I was born in El Segundo California and lived there till I was about 10. Then a promotion for my Dad moved my Mom, my two brothers, and myself out to Colorado.
My musical interests started in Elementary School where I began learning the Saxophone. When I went to Jr. High School the school band didn’t need the sax but they needed a drummer. Bouyah -the rest is history.
By the time I went to High School my band opportunities consisted of Marching Band, which meant getting up early on Saturday mornings. “Really Mike”? It was then I knew I was born to Rock!
With the patience and support of my folks, I spent all my time growing up playing the drums. Influenced by drummers such as Joey Kramer, Nikko McBrain, and Vinnie Appice is how I came up with the style of drums I play. Thanks little brother for all the hours spent learning how to Rock!
In the pursuit of my rock and roll dreams I found myself playing in local bands and eventually touring the country and opening up for numerous national acts.
Currently I am involved with various worship music opportunities that I am fortunate enough to share with my beautiful wife Terri . These projects have given me the desire to serve the Lord with the gifts He has blessed me with. I feel privileged to be a part of Sling And A Stone and to have the opportunity to witness for God through our music. Thank God for all He has blessed me with and may He guide my future.
