Blessed. Humbled. Grateful. Yep, that pretty much sums it up! To think of the journey that God has brought me through to come to this place in my life is so amazing.
I grew up on a small farm in North Dakota where I dealt with big issues like being adopted to losing my dad when I was 6. Even though there were many obstacles through this time, there were two constants in my life: God and music. At times when I wasn’t sure if I really belonged anywhere else, I always knew that I belonged with God. Writing songs and poems became a way for me to deal with all of my emotions and fears, and to come to the other side of difficult times. I truly am grateful for the bumps in the road…they brought me here!
I had some amazing opportunities to develop my love for music through scholarship pageants. I was fortunate to be named the 1986 Miss North Dakota National Teen-Ager, along with some other titles that allowed me to pay for my college education and to travel, meeting so many inspiring people.
Two days after graduating from NDSU with a degree in Child Development Family Science and a minor in Gerontology, I moved to Colorado. I have been living in Colorado since 1993, fully enjoying my life with my husband, Brian and two children. I am the Life Enrichment Director at MorningStar Senior Living of Applewood, and am passionate about fitness for people of all ages, and have been working on developing resources for teachers to increase movement in the classroom to enhance academics. In my spare time, I love to hike, try new recipes, play outside with my kids, and spend time with family and friends.
